Here is how the election unfolds. Community forums and other confirmed election events will appear here too.
September 1-11
People running in the election file their nomination papers. The final candidate list will be available after nominations close.
September 19
The official campaign period for the 2026 local election begins.
September 28
The Village expects to begin distributing mail ballot packages once ballots are available. You can apply for a package now. Read the mail ballot instructions (opens in a new tab)
October 7
Vote early from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Ballots returned by mail or delivery service must reach City Hall by 4:00 p.m.

Vote from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is also the final opportunity to return a mail ballot in person.

Nominations take place in September. We will publish the confirmed list once it is available from an official source.
Voting in Kaslo
You do not need to own property to vote if you live in Kaslo. Here is what to check before you go.
First
Resident voters must be Canadian citizens, be at least 18, have lived in B.C. for the required period and live in the Village of Kaslo.
Next
Kaslo uses the Provincial Voters List. If you are not on the list, you can register at the voting place before you vote.
Bring
Registering when you vote? Bring two pieces of ID showing your name and address. At least one must include your signature.
